CBT backs Jordan’s BTCC campaign / British Touring Cars

Britain’s fastest-moving business travel agent is set to once again be represented in style in the British Touring Car Championship, with former champion Andy Jordan’s new car carrying prominent CBT branding into the new season.

It’s all change for 25-year-old Jordan this year as he bids to recapture the BTCC crown he won in 2013: he is joining the MG/Triple Eight Racing team to drive a factory-supported MG6 GT with the reigning manufacturer-constructor champion squad. He is switching to Triple Eight Racing from the family-run Eurotech Racing Honda Civic with which he has enjoyed success for several seasons. One thing remains constant, however: the large CBT Business Travel logo on his car’s bonnet.

“We are delighted to be continuing our support for Andy Jordan into the 2015 season,” said CBT co-founder William Burnett. “We have backed Andy since his very first competitive days and have enjoyed watching him develop into a top-line competitor. His championship victory in the BTCC in 2013 was marvellous to watch, and now we look forward to seeing him on top of the podium once again.”

Said Jordan: “By joining MG and Triple Eight, I can build something exciting for the future. Joining this team gives me the best chance I will have of winning the championship again – it is as simple as that. I’m certainly looking further ahead than just the end of this year. There are many options for me here, and that is what makes this such an exciting deal.  I’m returning to Triple Eight with a lot more experience to try to lead the team to the championship; it’s a hugely exciting challenge.”

Triple Eight Racing founder and team principal Ian Harrison adds: “There aren’t many people out there who can replace a driver like Jason Plato. We looked around and Andrew was the obvious choice. His age, his profile and his speed – which goes without saying – make him a pretty straightforward choice; it was a bit of a no-brainer for us.”
