CBT Mustang thrills at CarFest / CarFest South

The CBT Ford Mustang FR500 GT4 car was among the crowd-thrillers at CarFest South, the charity auto festival held at the home of former World Champion Jody Scheckter, Laverstoke Park Farm near Basingstoke, over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Stuart Scott and Steve Wood took turns to hurl the 5.4-litre, 500bhp monster around the narrow and twisty Laverstoke display circuit; the Ford was one of a number of Mustangs on display to celebrate the model’s 50th anniversary.

“It was a great event,” said Stuart, “and we would definitely like to do it again next year. The CBT Mustang drew a lot of admiring glances.” CarFest, inspired by BBC Radio 2 broadcaster Chris, was a total sell-out. When added to the proceeds from CarFest North held earlier at Oulton Park in Cheshire, the event is set to raise £1.5million for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
